TAIWAN’S FIRST BILLBOARD LIVE TO OPEN IN TAIPEI

Billboard is one of the most recognized and authoritative brands in the U.S. music industry, famed for its music charts. Since its inception as a magazine in 1894, Billboard has tracked trends and hits within the music industry. The "Billboard Hot 100" ranks the popularity of singles, while the "Billboard 200" focuses on album sales, both serving as globally recognized benchmarks.
In recent years, Billboard has expanded into digital streaming, social media analytics, and international markets, curating global charts based on data from over 200 countries. Regional adaptations, such as the "Billboard Japan Hot 100," have also gained prominence.
Billboard hosts the annual "Billboard Music Awards," a significant event in the global music calendar, and serves as a key source of music news, interviews, and industry insights. Its foray into live music events and restaurant ventures further solidifies its position as a cultural icon.
Billboard Live — originated by Hanshin Contents Link Corp., which holds the master license for the brand in Japan — hosts live performances by internationally known artists at locations in Tokyo, Osaka and Yokohama, Japan, as well as alternate format versions in Shanghai and Nanjing, China. Among the global stars who’ve performed at Billboard Live in Japan are: Steely Dan, Babyface, David Foster, KISS’ Paul Stanley, Chaka Khan, Kool & the Gang and the Beach Boys,many other famous Japanese artists as well.

The aim is to provide an immersive, up-close experience with a variety of acts, from new, local talent to international legends, with each venue’s bill featuring carefully curated lineups reflecting the 131-year-old publication’s storied history covering all aspects of the music industry.
Like the other clubs, Billboard Live Taipei will feature live performances from top Japanese, Korean, U.S., European and Taiwanese acts, with the venue aiming to promote musical exchanges between Taiwanese and international artists. The intimate, 300-seat venue with a state-of-the-art sound system and gourmet restaurant is also part of Billboard‘s mission to advance the international presence of music cultures around the world.
